Lochaven has quickly become one of the most highly sought-after addresses south east of Melbourne, in the city’s most established growth corridor. This 66-hectare site will comprise about 500 homes, a proposed eight-hectare school, 10 hectares of green open space, and a nine-hectare retirement village. Woolworths is also partnering Dacland to deliver a significant commercial centre as part of a six-hectare neighbourhood activity centre.
Dacland’s unerring commitment to realising its urban design vision will see each of these distinct elements brought together as a beautifully integrated and cohesive neighbourhood. Our signature features including real housing choice, abundant green open space, and attention to every detail, will see Lochaven grow into a strong and diverse neighbourhood that enjoys family and community living at its most rewarding.

Dacland’s exciting new neighbourhood at Panorama offers the best views in Doreen.
The great house and land packages available at Panorama offer elevated blocks with sweeping views of the Great Dividing Range, the Dandenongs and Melbourne’s CBD; level building pads; and a panoramic hilltop park. There is a wetland development proposed to continue the theme at Mitchell’s Run and secluded cul-de-sac blocks available.
Adjacent to a future childcare centre, all blocks are walking distance to Ivanhoe Grammar (Plenty Campus) and several future school sites. Just east of the proposed Mernda Town Centre and railway station, surrounding suburbs include Whittlesea, Mernda, Craigieburn and Kinglake West.
In 1853, the Nelson family purchased 534 acres of land bound by the Plenty River, Yan Yean Road and Nelsons Hill. Their home was built on the east side of the Plenty River, with the land passed down through generations. A new homestead was eventually built closer to Yan Yean Road.
Today this land is known as Mitchell’s Run. Large allotments give you loads of space, with extensive parklands and the retention of the magnificent river red gums throughout the estate. Surrounding suburbs include Whittlesea, Doreen, Craigieburn, South Morang and Kinglake West.
Watercolour Views is a boutique development nestled at the base of the Quarry Hills Parkland. It is surrounded by Mernda, South Morang, Wollert and Epping.
Located just west of the proposed Mernda Town Centre, the development features beautiful views of the Kinglake Ranges. The community is in close proximity to Acacia College, St Josephs Primary and other proposed school sites.
The Sanctuary at Plenty is a boutique community nestled amongst woodland overlooking the Plenty River in the shire of Nillumbik. Its 35 highly sought-after homes, all in excess of 1000 square metres, were snapped up by savvy purchasers impressed by this exclusive hideaway just minutes from Greensborough and Diamond Creek townships.
This Dacland development demanded the resolution of myriad complex environmental issues. The result is an aesthetically striking community, involving the relocation of as many important plant and tree species within the parkland where they will flourish, and the creation of a ‘tree-top’ streetscape which contributes to the luxurious, peaceful nature of the community. Dacland has secured the long-term protection of the native tree species and the adjoining wetland by developing a comprehensive land management plan in close consultation with the Shire of Nillumbik.
Thoughtful treatment of Dry Creek has resulted in a “pond and riffle” system wetlands, which filter stormwater before it flows into Melbourne’s waterways, and provides an attractive place of interest in the community.
Dacland’s signature Housing Design Guidelines were also applied throughout the development, and have ensured that the community streetscapes remain interesting, attractive, and coherent well into the future.
